Standing in the shadow of the spectacular Jungfrau Mountains, between the glorious Lakes Brienz and Thun, Interlaken is one of Switzerland's most beautiful areas. A favourite with visitors and locals is the fashionable Höhenweg: a long boulevard, lined with trees, grand Victorian hotels, restaurants and shops. For those who prefer a more rural walk, there are numerous country trails in the area.
