DAY 1: UK - Venice.

Fly to Venice where you will be met and transferred to your ship, MS Michelangelo, for embarkation. (D)

DAY 2: Venice - Taglio di Po - Polesella.

Start your enchanting journey as you set sail on the beautiful Venice Lagoon and on towards the sparkling Adriatic Sea. During the morning, enjoy the amenities on board your ship or simply relax on deck. After reaching Taglio di Po in the early afternoon, why not take an optional excursion to Padua? This picturesque town is enclosed by ancient walls and has a latticework of arcaded streets opening out into a beautiful central piazza. The tour takes in the famous Basilica of St Anthony and allows plenty of time to stroll around its charming streets. Later, rejoin your ship in Polesella. (B, L, D)

DAY 3: Polesella - Ferrara - Verona - Taglio di Po.

This morning, visit the beautiful medieval town of Ferrara, awarded World Heritage status by UNESCO. Ferrara has several breathtaking palaces, dating back to the 14th century, which hosted the court of the house of Este. Rejoin your ship for lunch before visiting picturesque Verona by coach. With a long roll call of sights including a dazzling Roman amphitheatre, a cavernous medieval Basilica and Juliet's legendary balcony, this beautiful city has justifiably been granted UNESCO World Heritage status. DAY 4: Taglio di Po - Chioggia - Venice.

Arrive in Chioggia mid morning and enjoy time at leisure in this typical Adriatic fishing port. You may wish to stroll beside its canals, sip a cappuccino or frappé at one of its many open-air cafés or simply enjoy its relaxed, sleepy atmosphere. This afternoon, sail back to Venice where you'll have free time to explore this entrancing city. Perhaps admire its stunning Rialto Bridge, meander along its latticework of canals to discover hidden piazzas or just watch the world go by in glorious St Mark's Square. Alternatively, why not join an optional excursion? (B, L, D)

DAY 5: Venice - Lagoon islands - Venice.

This morning, why not join the optional sightseeing tour to two of the Lagoon's most colourful and charming islands? The tour takes in delightful Murano, famous for its glass-blowing industry and where quiet canals are flanked by terracotta-painted houses, pretty churches and fascinating glassworks and museums. The second port of call is Burano, at the northern end of the Lagoon. This captivating place is famed for its brightly-coloured houses, arched bridges and lacemaking school and museum. This afternoon, enjoy free time to explore the delights of Venice at leisure. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Venice - UK.

After breakfast, disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK. (B)

Note: Occasionally the ship will disembark in a different location and will require a short walk.

Dining

Your cruise includes full board. The dining room is large enough to accommodate all passengers in one sitting. Breakfasts are buffet style, while lunch and dinner have set menus, usually including a choice of regional specialities and traditional favourites. Aperitifs, coffee and digestifs are available in the lounge bar. Vegetarian meals and any special dietary requirements should be requested at the time of booking. There is an evening programme of entertainment and a welcome cocktail on the first night. While on board you will be looked after by the ship's hostess and purser.

Cabins

All outside cabins have twin or double beds; air-conditioning/climate control; satellite TV; radio; hairdryer; safety deposit box; shower and wc; and large picture window. Your holiday price includes a twin main deck cabin, or you may choose to upgrade.
