Madrid is steeped in history and cleverly combines past and present, making it a stylish and fascinating city. Today, you will check off the main sights, including the huge Puerta del Sol, graced by the city's emblem - a statue of a bear - and other landmarks such as the Parliament, the Moorish-style Plaza de España and Cibeles fountain. The afternoon is yours to explore further or perhaps take an optional excursion. (B)
DAY 3: Madrid - Toledo - Cordoba.
Enjoy the views as you drive to Toledo, perched on a hill ringed by the Tagus River. Admire its Moorish Alcantara Bridge and 13th century cathedral and see the Church of Santo Tome, home to El Greco's masterpiece, the 'Burial of the Count of Orgaz'. Then it's on to Cordoba, another of Spain's historic gems, and a most beguiling Andalucian city. (B, D)
DAY 4: Cordoba - Seville.
This morning join your included sightseeing tour of Cordoba, whose origins are rooted in Spain's Roman and Moorish past.
