Your Itinerary

DAY 1: UK - Brussels.

Join your tour by travelling on our free coach service from London for your Channel crossing to the Continent, where you will be met by your tour director and transferred to Brussels for one night. Alternatively travel direct to Brussels on Eurostar for a one night stay.

DAY 2: Brussels - The Rhineland - Würzburg area.

Today, journey into Germany and to the shores of the mighty Rhine for an afternoon's optional river cruise past charming villages, hilltop castles and terraced vineyards. Later, continue to Würzburg for one night in the area. (B, D)

DAY 3: Würzburg area - Romantic Road - Rothenburg - Neuschwanstein Castle - Innsbruck.

Drive along the Romantic Road, through villages protected by medieval tower gates and with squares of half-timbered houses and richly decorated fountains. Stop to visit picturesque Rothenburg before heading into South Bavaria for an included visit to the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein, perched on a clifftop overlooking a beautiful valley. Later, continue into Austria and to Innsbruck for one night. (B, D)

DAY 4: Innsbruck - St Moritz.

Today, travel amid splendid scenery by way of Landeck to the sophisticated, Swiss resort of St Moritz. Set in the beautiful Engadine Valley, St Moritz enjoys a stunning lakeside location and is a favourite with the international jet-set. (B)

DAY 5: St Moritz - The Bernina Express to Tirano - Lugano.

Sure to be a highlight of your tour, the Bernina Express is an unforgettable train journey and a wonderful way to cross the Alps. From St Moritz, the Bernina Express train winds its way across the spectacular Bernina Pass to Poschiavo and on to Tirano in Italy's Valtellina region. Snow-capped Alps, lush flowery meadows, sun-drenched fields and deep green forests are all part of this scenic spectacle. Reaching Tirano, rejoin your coach and journey by way of Lake Como to Lugano in the Swiss Ticino for one night. (B)

DAY 6: Lugano - Lake Lucerne.

Head to lovely Lucerne today. Nestled amid snow-capped Alps, surrounded by a lake and embellished by the clear mountain waters of the River Reuss, Lucerne is one of Switzerland's finest cities. Explore this pretty town and discover its famed wooden bridge and the Lion Monument. An optional excursion to Stanserhorn is available. One night in Lake Lucerne. (B, D)

DAY 7: Lake Lucerne - Interlaken - Gruyère - Geneva area.

This morning, cross the Brünig Pass and continue to delightful Interlaken, overlooked by the towering Jungfrau Mountain, before heading to Gruyère. Continue to Switzerland's most international city, Geneva for one night in the area. (B)

DAY 8: Geneva area - Beaune - Paris.

Cross the border into France and marvel at the captivating beauty of the Burgundy region as you pass vineyards and meadows en route to Beaune. Stop awhile in this medieval town, renowned for its wine production, before heading to Paris for two nights. (B)

DAY 9: Paris.

The included sightseeing tour of Paris with a local guide takes in many of the best-known Parisian sights: La Sorbonne, Boulevard St Germain, Eiffel Tower, Opéra, Champs Elysées and the Rue de Rivoli to name just a few. Make the most of your time in Paris and visit the great Palace of Versailles on the optional excursion. (B)

DAY 10: Paris - UK.

Say farewell to Paris and head to the Channel port where your tour ends. After the short Channel crossing, join the coach service to London. Alternatively travel back to the station to join the Eurostar service to the UK. (B)

EVENING CITY SIGHTSEEING

See the main sights of this city which has something for all tastes and interests. Visit the beautiful Grand Place with its 17th century guild houses. End the evening with a visit to a typical Brussels historical café to enjoy a glass of old fashioned Belgian beer.

CITY SIGHTSEEING

This sightseeing tour with a local guide shows you the historical center of Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, with its famous Golden Roof and Renaissance and rococo buildings. Also see the Hofkirche with the tomb of the Emperor Maximillian, the finest example of late Gothic sculpture in central Europe. Complete the tour with a visit to the Wilten Basilica.

LAKE CRUISE & DINNER

Join a boat trip on the Gulf of Lugano, passing Campione d'Italia, an Italian enclave. Then proceed to Caprino where you will have dinner in a typical Ticinese "grotto", from where you can admire the lights of Lugano.

SCENIC LAKE CRUISE

An hour's guided cruise on the most beautiful lake in Switzerland gives you an introduction to this lovely city from a completely different aspect. With its many bays, it offers superb panoramas of the surrounding landscape. The area is rich in historical associations, particularly the William Tell legend.

MOUNT STANSERHORN

A trip up the Stanserhorn mountain for breathtaking views is an experience not to be missed. The Mt. Stanserhorn Railway is a combination of an old-time funicular, which has romantic 100-year-old carriages with fringed curtains, and a modern aerial cable car, which takes you to the 6,300 ft. peak in about 30 minutes.

SWISS FOLKLORE EVENING

Contrary to belief, not all Swiss can yodel or blow the alp horn, but those you will meet at your after-dinner folklore party are real experts. They entertrain you with merry melodies on the accordation and traditional dances, while you sample cheese fondue and a drink of your choice.

EIFFEL TOWER & SEINE CRUISE

Your guided one-hour "La Promenade" Seine cruise starts from the Port de la Bourdonnais. On disembarkation you will be escorted to the restaurant "Café" for a drink. Before or after the cruise, you will ascend to the second floor of the famous Eiffel Tower for breathtaking views of the city.

CABARET SHOW

A trip to Paris is not complete without a visit to a typical cabaret show. A magical evening, either at the Nouvelle Eve situated in the heart of Pigalle or at the Paradis Latin built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel or at the Lido de Paris located on the famous Champs Elysées.
