Stay a little longer in the 'Big Apple' and discover the sights this amazing city has to offer - from the Statue of Liberty and Broadway to the Empire State Building and Macy's. On day 13 transfer to your New York hotel for the next two nights, before transferring to the airport at the end of the stay for your overnight flight to the UK.
Your Itinerary
DAY 1: UK - Boston.
Fly to Boston where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for a welcome drink with your tour director and fellow travellers.
DAY 2: Boston.
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of this historic city, dubbed the ?Cradle of Liberty? for its central role in the War of American Independence. Your tour encompasses the key landmarks associated with the American Revolution, including Boston Common and Old North Church, where lanterns were hung to warn patriots of oncoming British forces. Other highlights include Faneuil Hall, where you can browse around Quincy Market. Next, board a harbour cruise to see the USS Constitution, Bunker Hill Monument and Boston Tea Party ships, where in 1773, colonists dumped crates of tea in the harbour in protest at Britain?s tax on tea leaves. The rest of the day is at your leisure. (B)
DAY 3: Boston - Quebec City.
Today, travel through New Hampshire, passing through the state capital of Concord with its famous, golden-domed State House. Soak up the views as your journey continues through the granite peaks of Franconia Notch State Park in the White Mountains to Vermont, where the rocky ridges melt into thick forests and sparkling lakes. From here, drive into the French-Canadian province of Quebec, heading for historic Quebec City. Sitting on the St Lawrence River, this delightful city clusters around Old Quebec, the capital of New France until the British victory of 1759. This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. DAY 4: Quebec City.
Today starts with a tour of UNESCO-protected Old Quebec, North America?s only walled city. Admire the Place d'Armes and ancient Place Royale before visiting the Plains of Abraham, scene of the seminal 1759 battle for the city between the British and French. Afterwards, the time is your own to discover this charming city as you wish, perhaps touring the Château Frontenac, its instantly recognisable, castle-like hotel. Tonight, don?t miss our optional outing to Montmorency Falls and Ile d'Orleans, which includes dinner in a restaurant converted from a 17th century flourmill. (B)
DAY 5: Quebec City - Montreal.
This morning, drive to Montreal, Canada's second largest city, to see its splendid Gothic Notre Dame Basilica and Old Seminary of St Sulpice and enjoy the panoramic views from Mount Royal. This afternoon, explore your under own steam, perhaps delving into the underground shopping district of Place Ville-Marie or discovering Old Montreal. (B)
DAY 6: Montreal - Ottawa.
Today, explore the vibrant city of Ottawa, Canada's capital, with a guided tour taking in the Canadian Mint, Governor General's residence and hexagonal National Arts Centre. (B, D)
DAY 7: Ottawa - Toronto.
Start your day at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Stables, where you will learn about Canada?s famous Mounties. Later, continue to Toronto, the cosmopolitan provincial capital. (B)
DAY 8: Toronto.
Fringing Lake Ontario, Toronto is a buzzing mix of old and new. Take a tour of its city halls, University and Chinatown district before exploring independently, perhaps walking along the picturesque waterfront or shopping in St Lawrence Market and the Eaton Centre. This evening, why not join our optional outing to the CN Tower for dinner at the top of this 1,815 feet high tower? (B)
DAY 9: Toronto - Niagara Falls.
Enjoy the scenery as you drive around the 'Golden Horseshoe' of Lake Ontario, passing leafy vineyards and farmland en route to Niagara Falls. Once here, board the Maid of the Mist boat to cruise next to the thundering falls - have your camera ready to capture the roaring waters crashing around you. For an even more thrilling experience, you can take an optional helicopter ride over the falls. This evening, another optional excursion features dinner at a restaurant followed by a chance to see the falls lit up in a rainbow of colours. (B)
DAY 10: Niagara Falls - Lancaster.
Get another glimpse of the falls as you cross the Rainbow Bridge into New York State. Drive through the rolling Appalachian Mountains into Pennsylvania and on to Lancaster, home of the Amish communities. Tonight, enjoy a traditional Amish feast. (B, D)
DAY 11: Lancaster - Washington DC.
This morning, visit an Amish farm and house as a guide reveals fascinating facts about the Amish faith and people, who live without modern conveniences, including electricity. Later, leave for Washington DC, the US capital. This evening brings an optional dinner at one the city?s acclaimed restaurants before an ?illumination tour? of its floodlit landmarks. (B)
DAY 12: Washington DC.
Enjoy a half-day tour of this graceful city, which was founded in 1791 and named after George Washington. Highlights include Arlington National Cemetery, home to the grave of JF Kennedy, and photo stops at the White House and Capitol Hill. Afterwards, explore Washington?s other gems at your leisure, perhaps visiting the Smithsonian Institution, magnificent Basilica of the Immaculate Conception or Washington National Cathedral. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner hosted by your tour director. (B, D)
DAY 13: Washington DC ? Philadelphia ? New York City.
Travel to Philadelphia this morning for sightseeing focusing on the important buildings of this historic city ? the birthplace of the United States. Visit major attractions, including the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Later, transfer to New York and your hotel for the next two nights.
DAY 14: New York.
DAY 15: New York - UK.
Transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK.
DAY 16: Home landing in the UK.

Quebec Countryside Dinner and Montmorency Falls
Your first stop on this guided excursion is Montmorency Falls, a waterfall which is 30 meters higher than Niagara Falls and offers an unforgettable panorama. Next tour the western tip of Ile d'Orleans, followed by dinner at Le Moulin Saint Laurent, originally a water mill with a history dating back to 1675.
