DAY 1: UK - Havana.

Fly to Havana where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for the next four nights. The rest of the day is free for you to start exploring at leisure or to simply relax and enjoy your hotel.

DAY 2: Havana.

Today is dedicated to the colourful and eclectic city of Havana. Located on the north coast and built around a natural harbour, Havana's tumultuous history combined with infectious energy and a romantic atmosphere has resulted in a beautifully abstract city. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Havana's old centre comprises an interesting mix of baroque and neoclassical buildings, winding alleys and twisting, wrought iron gates. This morning, discover the city's authentic charm on a tour of the historical centre, founded in the 1500's. Walk by the Armas Square, the Templete, Royal Force Castle and through Cathedral Square until you reach the Palace of Cuban Arts & Crafts. Afterwards visit a cigar factory and a rum factory, where you will learn about the sugar cane process. After an optional lunch, the rest of the day is free.

DAY 3: Havana.

Today is at leisure to explore more of Havana's crumbling, narrow streets, lined with balconies and open doors, classic American cars running on Russian engines and welcoming local people, accompanied by the hypntoic strains of Cuban salsa music. Tonight, why not join the unmissable optional excursion to Club Tropicana? A dazzle of sequins, feathers and samba, Club Tropicana is hailed for spreading Cuban culture internationally. Enjoy an unrivalled spectacle of lights, costumes and entertainment in this legendary venue.

DAY 4: Havana.

A further day to relax or delve into Havana's colourful culture.

DAY 5: Havana - Varadero.

Today you will be transferred to your chosen hotel in Varadero. A 20km swathe of pristine white sand beach sweeping alongside the narrow Hicacos Peninsula, Varadero is one of the most sought-after destinations in the Caribbean. Also known as 'Blue Beach' for its clear, calm waters, Varadero is perfect for long, sunset walks and relaxation. (D)

DAY 6 to 7: Varadero.

Two full days at leisure in Varadero. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: Varadero - Havana - UK.

Transfer to the airport in Havana for your flight to the UK. (B)

DAY 9: Home landing in the UK.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

A Tourist Card is required for entry into Cuba, the cost of the card is included in the holiday price and will be supplied to you prior to departure.

A tax of 25 Convertible Pesos (CUCs) per person is payable on departure from Cuba by air.
