Your Itinerary

DAY 1: UK - Barcelona.

Fly to Barcelona where you will be met and transferred to your cruise ship, Norwegian Spirit, for embarkation. (D)

DAY 2 to 3: At sea.

Enjoy two full days to really make the most of the many facilities and activities offered on board. Perhaps lounge on deck enjoying the stunning panoramas, take a cooling dip in one of the pools and make the most of the many comforts and facilities your cruise ship has to offer as you towards Funchal. (B, L, D)

DAY 4: Funchal.

Steeped in history and decked in riotously coloured flowers that give it its nickname of the 'Garden Isle', the Portuguese volcanic island of Madeira basks in year-round sunshine and offers natural spectacles at almost every turn. Highlights include its fairytale capital, Funchal, where quaint cobbled lanes and flower markets tumble down to a glorious natural harbour. Beyond lies a lush interior of towering peaks and fertile valleys cloaked in thick forests and waterfalls and famed for the production of sweet Madeira wine. (B, L, D)

DAY 5: Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife combines vibrant resorts, vast beaches, quaint harbour-fronts and tranquil mountain-top villages with spectacular scenic contrasts such as pinewoods and leafy banana plantations to the north and spectacular valleys and desert-like landscapes to the south. Overlooking all is the soaring volcanic peak of Mount Teide, set amidst incredible lava scenery and mountains. Reaching Santa Cruz, the island's capital, enjoy free time to explore the city's leafy streets, cafés and boutiques, visit Garcia Sanabria Park, or head to nearby Loro Parque: a tropical garden and wildlife sanctuary. DAY 6: Arrecife.

The easternmost Canary Island, Lanzarote's year-round sunshine, great scenery and friendly resorts have attracted thousands of visitors over the years, but the island has far more to offer than just sun, sea and sand. Astonishing lunar-like landscapes, lava-baked fields and desert terrain grace the interior while its heart is crowned by the mighty Fire Mountain and eerily beautiful Timanfaya National Park. The island's dramatic landscapes are edged by immense stretches of powdery red, black and white sand beaches. Enjoy the delightful harbour town of Arrecife, Lanzarote's capital, or relax at the nearby beach resort of Puerto del Carmen. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: At sea.

DAY 8: Malaga (for Granada).

One of the Mediterranean's oldest and most elegant ports, Malaga overflows with animated Andalucian atmosphere and has a historic quarter dating back 800 years. Crowned with the remains of a mighty Moorish fortress, the Gibralfaro castle, and its splendid 11th century Alcazabar, this handsome city offers tree-lined boulevards, chic shopping avenues, charming tapas bars and numerous impressive sights, including a fine cathedral, leafy botanical gardens and a superb Museum of Fine Arts, filled with works by Pablo Picasso, its most famous son. Alternatively, join the optional trip to the Moorish city of Granada and perhaps visit the glorious Alhambra Palace. (B, L, D)

DAY 9: At sea.

As Norwegian Spirit cruises towards Barcelona, enjoy a day on board to really make the most of the fantastic chioce of amenities. (B, L, D)

DAY 10: Barcelona.

After breakfast, disembark your ship and transfer to your hotel in Barcelona for four nights. (B)

DAY 11 to 13: Barcelona.

Enjoy free time to explore the vibrant and captivating city of Barcelona. Dynamic and exiting, Barcelona re-invented itself following the 1992 Olympic Games. Today it is a city bursting with life, offering awe-inspiring architecture, rich Gothic history, colourful fiestas and delicious cuisine, set against mountain and coastal scenery and blessed with 11 months of sun a year. The first stop on most visitor's list is the spectacular La Sagrada Familia Cathedral. The work of Barcelona's most famous son; Antoni Gaudi, the ambitious project was intended to be a combination of Gothic and modern architecture and is truly breathtaking. (B)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK. (B)
