Your Itinerary

DAY 1: UK - Amsterdam area.

Join your tour by travelling on our free coach service from London for your Channel crossing to the Continent, where you will be met by your tour director and transferred to the Amsterdam area for two nights. Alternatively travel by Eurostar to the Amsterdam area for two nights.

DAY 2: Amsterdam area.

Today, enjoy the delightful city of Amsterdam, also known as the 'city of a thousand bridges'. A cruise along the city's famed canals introduces you to the highlights before a visit to one of Amsterdam's famous diamond centres. Later, continue your sightseeing with a local guide by coach. (B, D)

DAY 3: Amsterdam area - Rhineland.

This morning, explore Amsterdam at leisure, perhaps admiring the picturesque merchants' houses, landmarks such as the 17th century Royal Palace and famous 'Skinny Bridge' or visiting the world famous Van Gogh Museum. Later, cross the border into Germany and drive to the lovely landscapes of the Rhineland for one night. (B, D)

DAY 4: Rhineland - Lake Lucerne.

This morning enjoy a scenic Rhine river cruise to admire picturesque sights such as hilltop castles, quaint wine villages, terraced vineyards and the famed Lorelei Rock before driving south to Switzerland for two nights in the beautiful Lake Lucerne area. (B, D)

DAY 5: Lake Lucerne.

This morning visit Lucerne, with its impressive city walls, covered wooden bridge and Lion Monument - a masterful stone sculpture in honour of the heroic Swiss guard of Louis XVI. Don't miss an optional cable car ride to the summit of Mount Titlis for spectacular views of the Alps. (B)

DAY 6: Lake Lucerne - Paris.

Travel through green pastures laden with picturesque chalets of rustic timbering and luxuriant flowers to France and continue amidst some of the country's most famous vineyards to Paris, arriving in time to enjoy an optional cabaret show. (B)

DAY 7: Paris.

Paris is a fascinating city famed for its culture, beauty, sophistication and sparkle. Today's included sightseeing with a local guide takes in many of the best-known Parisian sights: Notre Dame Cathedral, La Sorbonne, Boulevard St Germain, Eiffel Tower, Opéra, Champs Elysées and Rue de Rivoli to name just a few. In the evening, enjoy an optional visit to Montmartre before a farewell dinner. (B)

DAY 8: Paris - UK.

Say farewell to Paris and head to the Channel port where your tour ends. After a short Channel crossing, join your coach service to London. Alternatively transfer to the station to join the Eurostar service to the UK. (B)

Optional Excursions

To help you plan and make the most of your holiday, below is a list of optional excursions available to you.

AMSTERDAM AT NIGHT

Enjoy a ride through the nightlife center; see the pretty illuminated canals during a stroll through the red-light district with your local guide who will explain what might at first seem obvious! Stop for an included drink at a typical Dutch "Brown café" to experience real Amsterdam atmosphere. (Not suitable for children).

VOLENDAM & ZAANS SCHANS

Drive to Volendam where you will have free time to enjoy a stroll and view the sights. From Volendam continue to Zaanse Schans, a working open-air museum that demonstrates what life was like in the 17th and 18th centuries. During the afternoon you will also visit a cheese shop and clog maker for a demonstration.

KEUKENHOF

This tour takes you through Holland's most colourful springtime attractions. See the fields of Tulips, daffodils and hyacinths in bloom. Visit famous Keukenhof Garden Park, an unforgettable sight. This excursion is available from March 18th to May 26th.

SCENIC LAKE CRUISE

An hour's guided cruise on the most beautiful lake in Switzerland gives you an introduction to this lovely city from a completely different aspect. With its many bays, it offers superb panoramas of the surrounding landscape. The area is rich in historical associations, particularly the William Tell legend.

MOUNT TITLIS

Drive to Alpine Engelberg to take the Titlis-Rotair, the world's first revolving cable car, up to 10,000 feet where eternal snow resists even the summer sun. A panoramic view all the way up with 360 degree vistas of glaciers and icefalls. Also on the agenda is a visit to the Ice Grotto.

THE TITLIS ICE FLYER

An extension to the Mount Titlis excursion, the Ice Flyer is a chair lift, specially equipped to protect from wind, snow and rain. The 2,460 foot journey lasts six minutes and you can enjoy an absolutely unique and unforgettable ride just a few feet above the Titlis Glacier.

ENGELBERG ONLY

Spend a few hours in this panoramic village at the foot of Mount Titlis: a well-known Alpine resort, where you could shop in the bazaars and enjoy traditional Swiss cuisine in a typical restaurant.

DINNER & SWISS FOLKLORE

Contrary to belief, not all Swiss can yodel or blow the alp horn, but those you will see are real experts. They entertain you with merry melodies on the accordion and traditional dances while you enjoy a full 3 course dinner.

CABARET SHOW

A trip to Paris is not complete without a visit to a typical cabaret show. A magical evening, either at the Nouvelle Eve situated in the heart of Pigalle or at the Paradis Latin built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel or at the Lido de Paris located on the famous Champs Elysées. A glass of champagne is served during the show.

VERSAILLES-SUN KING'S PALACE

Historic Versailles is the beautiful, restored palace of Louis XIV, the Sun King. After the guided tour of the palace, you can stroll in the magnificent terraced gardens with their fountains and statues. The Palace of Versailles is open every day except Mondays and bank holidays.On these days, you will be offered alternative sights.

FAREWELL DINNER & MONTMARTRE
